TESSY THOMAS, INSPIRATION OF ALL WOMEN

 Tessy Thomas is an Indian scientist and Director  General  of Aeronautical systems and the former project  Director  of Agni-4 missile in Defence Research and  Development Organization. She is the first woman scientist to head a missile project in India. She is known as the "Missile Woman" in India.



KNOW ABOUT HER LIFE



  Thomas was born in April 1963 in Alappuzha, Kerala  to a syrian  Christian family.  She was named after Mother Teresa . she is  an inspiration of all women. Her father was  an IFS officer or a small-time businessman  or an  accountant. When Thomas was 13 years old , her father suffered from stroke which his  right side paralyzed. Her mother who was a teacher remain a home maker to look after the family in such dire condition. But she never stop.

 She grew up  near Thumba Rocket Launching Station and says her  fascination with rockets and missile began then. She was stimulated even by the wonderment of aircraft flying. Thomas has four other sisters and one brother. She has mentioned  in interviews about  her parents ensuring their children  received  proper careers of their own interest so that they can excel.  Two of her  sibling are engineers while another pursued a MBA.
            Thomas credited her home town and mother for her personal development . " I grew up  with the pretty backwaters of Kerala as my backyard. . I guess nature gives you strength   and good thoughts. The power  of nature can not be undermined in one's development." Of  her mother  ,she has said," it must have been tough for my mother - who was not  allowed to work - to look after us on her own. 


JOURNEY OF  TESSY THOMAS

Tessy Thomas studied in St. Michael's Higher  Secondary school and St. Joseph's Girl's Higher  Secondary  school in Alleppey (Alappzuha).  She had  a  natural flair for mathematics and physics.    She  scored one hundred percent in mathematics during her 11th and 12th years in school. In the same year she had also scored more than ninety five percent in science.

  She took education loan of Rs. 100 per month from  State  Bank Of India  to  study  engineering from  Government Engineering  College, Thrissur. She also  received  a scholarship that  covered  her tuition fees having been entered into the first ten students  of the merit list during her admission .The loan gave her courage to live in a hostel   while pursuing her B.Tech.
                            In both school and college Thomas was involved  in extracurricular activities  including political issues. She  excelled in sports especially Badminton bringing much recognition to her alma maters.
                        She also has  an M.Tech in Guided Missile from the Institute Of  Armament Technology , Pune( now known as Defence Institute Of Advanced Technology. She also pursued  in  operation management and Ph.D. in guidance  missile under DRDO.


FINALLY   SHE GOT SUCCESS

 She joined DRDO in 1988. She was placed in the department  of design and development of  the new generation  ballistic missile, Agni . For the Agni programme  , she had been appointed by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam .
                Tessy was associated project director  of the 3000 km range Agni-III missile project. She was the  project director for missile Agni -iv which was successfully tested in 2011. Tessy was appointed as the  project Director  for 5000 km range Agni-v in 2009. The missile was appointed as Director - General,  Aeronautical systems of DRDO in 2018.
            She is a fellow in various universities such as Indian Nation Academy  of Engineering (INAE) ,Institution  of Engineers-India (IEI) and  Tata Administration Service(TAS).

She married to Soroj Kumar , a commander in the Indian Navy  and they have a son, Tejas.

 Thomas was received the Lal Bahadur Sastri  National Award for her contribution for making India self-reliant in the field of missile technology.

THE JOURNEY OF A GREAT SCIENTIST



In this Indian name, the name Kailasa  Vadivoo is a Patronymic, not a family name, and the person should be refered to by the given name Sivan.

           KNOW ABOUT K.SIVAN:


Image result for k sivan with his parentsSivan was born in Mela Sarakkalviliai, near Nagercoli in Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu states in India at 14 April ,1957. His parents name is Kailasa Vadivu and mother Chellam. Sivan is known for his significant contribution to the development of cryogenic engines, for India's space programme.





                                   BELIEVE IN KARMA:


 K. Sivan was belongs to poor family. His parents were farmer .So this is not easy for him to get success very easily.He faced struggle. But he believe himself. And he ran away to get success.He is first graduate from his family. Later he graduated with a Bachelor Degree in engineering in Madras Institute Of Technology in 1980.Then he completed  Master Degree in aerospace engineering  in Indian Institute of Science ,Bangalore in 1982 and started work in ISRO. He earned a doctoral degree in aerospace engineering from Indian Institute Of Technology , Bombay in 2006. He is a fellow of the Indian National Academy  of Engineering, the Aeronautical  society of India.





                                JOURNEY OF K.SIVAN:  


Sivan worked on the design and development of launch vehicles for Indian Space  Research OrganiSation (ISRO). Sivan jointed in ISRO in 1982 and participate on the Polar Satelite Launch Vehicles(PSLV) project. He was appointed as the director of ISRO 's Liquid Propulsion System Center on 2 july 2014.Sivan was appointed the chief of  ISRO in January 2018 and he assumed  office on 15 january. Under the chairmanship , ISRO launched Chandrayaan -2 , the 2nd mission to the Moon on July 22, 2019.

2) ISRO merit award(2007).
3) Dr Biren Roy Space Science Award (2011).
4) Distinguised Alumnus Award (2013) from Madras Institute Of Technology Alumni Association, Chennai.

5) Distinguished Alumnus Award (2018) from Indian Institute Of Science , Bangalore.
6) He was conferred Doctor Of Science  from Sathyabama University ,Chennai in April 2014.
7) Tamil Nadu govenment's Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Award .(2019)
